“I have been through enough corporate training to recognize ‘frou-frou’ training models that cost a ton, load up staff with big binders that collect dust, and everyone sighs in relief when the trainer is out the door! Question-Driven Management© is not one of those. We thought we were good before (and we were). Now we are even better! Robert Bystrom and Question-Driven Management© specializes in individual and work group skill development that uses very practical and efficient concepts.”

How to Think Newly
About Our Community
–tools for creating social change
How can we build a community which reflects our diversity, our intelligence and our honor for First People and the natural world?
How can we take more advantage of our people, our imaginations, our inventive intelligence, our beneficial intent and the land, the water and the life that surrounds us?
Great idea, but he never told us how to think differently from the thinking we used when we created the problems in the first place.
How to Think Newly is about providing people with tools to access greater resources for resolving all the personal, professional and community problems we encounter every day.
What: A 2-hour in-depth exploration of a radical new approach for developing perspectives and understandings in order to take advantage of more of our mind’s true capacity
Presenter: Robert Bystrom
Time: 10:00 am to noon
When: Wednesday, February 28, 2024
Where: Center for Expanding Possibilities
Cost: $97
Who is it for? People who have a sense of urgency and a sense of curiosity and a recognition of the critical position spaceship Earth is in right now. It is for people who have something at stake and something to accomplish and could use more mental power.
This workshop is for
- Managers and business owners who need their employees to be on the same page
- Intimate partners and parents who need tools for eliminating the root cause of arguments and for getting back on track sooner
- Community activists and project leaders who need to make sure their meetings and projects do not get derailed by common distractions
- Therapists, coaches and consultants who need to help their clients see new perspectives
In this workshop, you will learn
- how to redirect the incessant conversation of the “monkey mind” to more productive activity
- why great thinkers have always recognized that being a student of questions is critical to effective living
- how to allow your mind to be the unlimited resource it is
- how to use “master questions” which will always provide you with new perspectives and new insights to current problems
Note: Since some segments of our economy and environment affect all of us and are at or approaching a critical point, I have chosen to focus this month on how the Question Driven Approach™ can apply to large projects or large problems.
More about thinking
From working with individuals, partnerships and organizations over several decades, I have observed patterns and discovered some principles about how we think. We were not taught thinking in school; and it is a skill set we could use now more than ever because of the pace and stresses of modern life and because of the high stakes that are involved. We were taught how to drive a car and use a computer; but most of us weren’t taught how to use our minds. It is time for us to turn that around.
One result of not knowing how to use our minds more fully (they are designed to function for our benefit not for our demise!) is that we have become compromised in our ability to distinguish the imitation from the real or the imposter from the legitimate or the counterfeit from the authentic.
Dissatisfaction is my ally
Question Driven Intelligence is for people who are dissatisfied with their erratic, critical and often unkind thoughts and who seriously would prefer to engage more of their mental capacity in accomplishing the work they are here to do. Many people are familiar with Einstein’s quote, “You cannot solve a problem with the same thinking that created it.” However, he failed to tell us how to think differently from the way we were thinking before.
Thinking newly
Left on our own, we wind up mentally rehashing personal problems, relationship problems, social problems and environmental problems. Rehashing, mulling over and mentally arguing rarely produce satisfying results because that is the thinking that created the problems in the first place.
I invite you to join me for an exploration into what else might be possible.
Every great thinker
Every great thinker has reported that questions played a crucial role in the process of making their discoveries. However, up until now, there has not been a reliable vehicle for people to tap into this inherent capacity at will.
In this course, you will gain a functioning ability to engage your mind at a level and with a simplicity never before available. You will be ale to solve sticky problems that in the past has left you mired in confused details or dead ends.
I think of my mind as my personal internet which contains the sum total of all my life experience, including many process applications. In this model, questions are the search engine that creates intelligence and makes sense and order out of the raw data of our life’s abundant comings and goings.
